As many of you know, I am presently up in Canada (Saskatchewan, to be specific) and the big news of the day was the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ big win over the Toronto Argonauts (Canadian Football League), as well as the huge Craven Country Jamboree (featuring the likes of George Strait, Taylor Swift, Clint Black, Kellie Pickler, Rodney Atkins, Billy Ray Cyrus, the Charlie Daniels Band, and many many more).

(When the Roughriders come to town – in this case, Toronto – the sale of watermelons skyrockets, as the crazy Regina fans cut them up and hollow them out to make helmets . . . the ones in the photo above are pretty crude, but I saw some very impressively carved watermelon helmets in the stands during the broadcast of today’s game).

In any event, every radio station in the province seemed to be playing country music (maybe because of the Craven festival . . . or maybe because they always do . . . I don’t know).  While enduring the torture of listening to this “music”, I heard a song that I thought was pretty funny: “Rockin’ The Beer Gut” performed by the Trailer Choir . . . and I thought, “I need to share this with my friends!”

I’m not much of country fan, so maybe this song is “old news”, but I present it to you here as my YouTube pick of the day:
