    From Celebrity Dirty Laundry:

Following their testing time on the reailty show “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here”, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were able to fit in some five star luxury at the Four Seasons resort in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.31700PCN_SpiediRica

The day before returning to Los Angeles (June 12), the “Hills” co-star couple strolled along the sand, with Heidi stopping to pick up some sea shells on the shoreline.

After getting a little rest and making out on a sun lounger, the recently married reality couple did a little kayaking and frolicked by an inflatable water trampoline.

The beach outing comes just after it was announced that Miss Montag stripped down for an upcoming issue of Playboy magazine.

sunIt was reported by The Sun today that Myleene Klass, the co-host of NBC’s “Get Me Out of Here – I’m a Celebrity“, had to be rescued by staff at her hotel in Costa Rica after she got stuck to her bed.

The Sun reported that she had sprayed inspect repellent on herself which reacted with the varnish of her bedposts gluing her to the bed.

A source told the paper “Hotel staff had to peel her off slowly but surely.”

Well, the first episode of “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here – Costa Rica” didn’t fail to live down to my expectations.  It was  horrendous – but it’s like a train wreck . . . I’ll definitely watch the next episode, just to see how much stupider (is that a word?) it can get.

I just don’t know what impression of Costa Rica the show is leaving with people who have never been here.  I’d like to hear your comments.  Costa Rica is not a bug-infested, intolerably humid jungle as portrayed in the show . . . yes, you can definitely find untamed, uninhabited places in Costa Rica . . . but I know you can say the same about Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, North Dakota, Montana, Minnesota . . . Drop those “celebrities” in the wilderness of northern Saskatchewan for a couple of weeks and they’d wish they were in Costa Rica!

conanI hope Conan does better with his “Tonight Show” debut, tonight.

    Celebrity
    show-sheet

These are the best “celebrities” that NBC could come up with!

Sanjaya, the American Idol reject . . . Stephen Baldwin, whose biggest claim to fame (other than being Alec’s brother) was the “novelty Internet hit” from 2000, “My 18-Inch Biceps”.  (Have you ever heard of that – I haven’t and don’t have any desire to go looking for it). . . Torrie Wilson, a former model for World Champion Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment (Whoohoo!) . . . Heidi Montag, who is described on the show’s Web site as  ”an American reality television personality, fashion designer, pop singer, and aspiring actress”.  (Boy, she is an “aspiring” “Jack of all trades”!)

John Salley is the only one that stands out above the rest . . . and I mean that only literally.

BlagoGet this: Ousted and disgraced (and disgracefully stupid) former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevic was scheduled to be one of the “celebrities”; however, his wife Patti Blagojevich announced on the Today show, Thursday, that she will replace her husband, who had to drop out of the show after a federal judge barred him from participating because he would have to leave the country.

(I guess the “big celebrities”, like Kato Kailin, Barry Williams,  Danny Bonaduce, Gary Coleman, Brigitte Nielsen, Jose Conseco, Dustin Diamond (Screech), Corey Feldman, and Flavor Flav weren’t available.  The smart ones, or the ones who were asked but declined or really weren’t available include figure skater Nancy Kerrigan and “Dog” The Bounty Hunter).

This ought to be a ‘hoot’! . . . and I mean that in the most pejorative way possible!

    NBC describes it somewhat differently:

A groundbreaking, live event airing throughout the month of June it’s the ultimate “Swiss Family Robinson” as ten celebrities are dropped into the heart of the jungle [of Costa Rica] to face fun and comedic challenges designed to test their survival skills. America is the puppet master, controlling their favorites by putting them into challenges and tasks to win food, supplies and luxury items. In each episode, friendships will be tested, hilarity will ensue and viewers will decide which celebrities stay or leave. While all participants will be playing for their favorite charities, the last remaining star will be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle, winning the largest share of the prize for donation.

Visit the official Web site for photos, videos, bios of the celebrities, etc.

Oh boy . . . Ethel will be watching this this one (which starts on Monday, June 1)!  I’m certain that “hilarity will ensue”!

    Stay tuned.

P.S. – If I’m dropped into the beautiful “jungle” of Costa Rica . . . I’m not going to be saying “Get Me Out of Here” . . . but, then again, I’m not a big celebrity . . . at least not yet.
